Taylor & Josh, March 23, 2012 (A Beach Themed Jacksonville Wedding)

The Proposal: Josh’s proposal happened when we were on vacation in San Francisco. It was around our one year anniversary and I could tell something was up because he is normally so relaxed, but the whole vacation he was a little on edge. I got an even better idea when his brother kept calling and all Josh was saying was “not yet” every time he called. That was a pretty big spoiler!

Well, we got to the last day and no proposal, so I just assumed it wasn’t going to happen because we were getting ready to leave. Then I found a note on the nightstand that said, “Will you marry me?” I walked around the corner and there stood Josh with the ring in his hand. He asked if I would and I said yes, (I think,) and the whole flight home I was already making plans!

The bride, Taylor, says this, “On the day, take it all in because it really flies by. That is cliché’ but so true! We waited one day to go on our honeymoon and we are so glad we did because it gave us an extra day to spend with family and friends. We were so tired anyway so it wouldn’t have been fun traveling. I highly recommend taking the day after the wedding to relax.”

Three years after Jason and I started dating, we took a trip to Tampa with our friends. While there, the four of us saw a concert and spent some time relaxing on St. Pete Beach. One afternoon I was tired and decided to take a nap while the guys stayed on the beach. When I woke up from my nap, Jason had brought me several shells he collected on the beach….

That night after finishing dinner, Jason and I decided to go for a walk on the beach. When the sun was almost set, Jason turned to me and said, “I have another shell I haven’t given you yet because it’s kind of special.” He then reached into his pocket, and handed me a home-made clam shell! I opened it up, and there was a beautiful three stone engagement ring inside! Jason dropped down to one knee and said “Kandis Laree, will you marry me?” Of course, I said yes!

The Bride’s Story:
He had planned to propose the morning we celebrated Christmas together December 18, 2010. I was so excited for him to get out of bed and walk in to the living room to see what was setting beside the tree (I got him a nice piece of luggage since he goes out of town so much). But all he wanted to do is take a shower and get ready so of course I thought he was trying to make me quit acting so giddy, but really he was planning the whole time how he was going to propose….

At the point he finally met me out in the living room I was mad and decided I was going to make him wait and make breakfast! Haha. We finally opened gifts and I decided to walk next door to our neighbor’s house and deliver homemade goodies. When I opened the door into our foyer area he was there waiting on me with a look on his face like something bad just happened!

I asked him what was wrong and he said nothing I have something for you and handed me a white box. I shook the box and the jewelry moved so I thought he had bought me another necklace. I thought to myself, well I guess he’s not proposing!! To my surprise when I opened it the ring was laying off to the side and I looked at him as he asked me to marry him.

Local Jacksonville wedding: Dave and Becky!

On May 5, 2010, I was on my way home from work when Dave called me to let me know he would be late coming home due to a work meeting. I arrived home and proceeded to start dinner when I heard rustling coming from our bedroom. When I opened our bedroom door, I saw Dave standing there holding a new puppy! I was so surprised and immediately fell in love with our new puppy, Sammie!

While I was on the floor playing with Sammie, Dave asked me to stand up because he wanted to show me a new dog toy he bought. Once I stood up, he began to reach into his pocket and to my surprise he pulled out a beautiful ring! He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was the best proposal I could have ever imagined on a day that I will forever cherish!

The venue was breathtaking and the food was out of this world! We had a buffet style dinner and we are still hearing from our guests how wonderful the food was! Our amazing wedding cake was a three tier, round cake in ivory with script design accenting the middleof each tier. Navy blue ribbon lined the base of each tier and one large yellow ribbon was used as the cake topper. Our cake flavor was marble with layers of kahlua butter cream frosting, which was out of this world delicious!
